 | | | | | Sukhvinder Stubbs, chief executive, Barrow Cadbury Trust
Sukhvinder is the chief executive of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, a grant-making foundation which seeks to encourage a just, equal, peaceful and democratic society. With an endowment of some £100m, the trust gives out grants to projects based in the UK, Europe and areas of conflict around the world.
Sukhvinder's background is in equality, social inclusion and community development. Previously, she ran the Runnymede Trust and was the elected and founding chairwoman of the European Network Against Racism. Prior to that, she worked for English Partnerships and the Community Development Foundation. Over the past 15 years, she has served on the boards of regeneration agencies including the Black Country Development Corporation and Advantage West Midlands.
Currently, she is a non-executive director of Severn Trent Water and a member of the government's Better Regulation Task Force where she is the chairwoman of their work in the voluntary and community sector.
For the past five years, Sukhvinder has written a weekly column for Regeneration magazine published by Haymarket. Last year, she was awarded Woman of the Year by the Deparment of Trade and Industry-sponsored Asian Jewel Awards.
